Los Feliz Real Estate Knowledge

Los Feliz is a neighborhood to the northeast of Hollywood and west of Silverlake and Echo Park. It is an upscale, quiet community with picturesque green hills and city views. But it hasn’t always been so quiet…
Once bought from Spanish hands in the 1800s, it was ended up in mining tycoon Col. Griffith’s paws, who after trying to off his wife several times attempted to sell the ten square miles around Mt. Hollywood known today as Los Feliz. He was unsuccessful since people strangely did not prefer land attached with an attempted murder scandal. He ended up gifting most of the land to the city of Los Angeles to form Griffith Park. The rest was sold off to developers which drew huge names in architecture who left their mark on the hills, such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Wallace Neff and others. Wright’s Ennis House atop the hills of Los Feliz still stands and was actually sold for $18 million in 2017.
The neighborhood of Los Feliz has become a bedroom community of the wealthy in LA as well as current stars. The flats of Los Feliz have even attracted hip shops, restaurants and cafes.
