Beachwood Canyon is a neighborhood nestled between Lake Hollywood and Los Feliz. It is made up by beautiful Hollywood hills developed and made popular by H.J. Whitley with his Hollywoodland development (now Lake Hollywood). However, the majority of Beachwood Canyon was first developed in the 1920s by General Sherman, Harry Chandler, and real estate magnate Sidney Woodruff. They drew inspiration from architectural styles in Spain, France, Italy and German castles. Thus, the narrow streets in Beachwood canyon are very reminiscent of a small European residential area.
Many Hollywood greats past and present have lived in this picturesque canyon. It provides the privacy Hollywood elites need with the centralized area and gorgeous city views they want.
